Classes are $180 for the 12-week session. Once you have paid $180 for your first class, you may choose a second class of Tai Chi for only $144. Individual classes are $20. Tai Chi Characters

YANG 150 - Advanced - MONDAY, 10:30 a.m. 

Judith Budd-Walsh of Harmonious Movement is teaching the Yang Long Form guided by the teachings of T.T. Liang. She incorporates Qigong taught by her Master teachers, Chung Li, Dr. Nan Lu, C.K. Chu, Dr. Paul Lam, Jim Cummings and Kenneth Cohen, ending the hour-long class with Five Organ Healing and Healing the Five Senses meditations.

YANG 24 - Beginner - MONDAY, 12:00 p.m. 

This ancient and graceful form of Tai Chi often described as “meditation in motion.” It helps reduce stress and anxiety by promoting a serene state of mind through the gentle, flowing, focused motion of the form and deep breathing. Yang 24 is the most popular form worldwide. Class will include a short meditation and will follow with step by step instruction of the form. Please wear comfortable clothing.

YANG 24 - Intermediate - WEDNESDAY, 9:45 a.m. 

Students must know the Yang 24 form in its entirety, or with permission of the instructor, to enroll.

TAI CHI FOR MEMORY - Beginner - WEDNESDAY, 11:00 a.m.

Studies have shown tai chi improves memory and brain health. Dr Lam's team merged medical research and traditional Chinese medicine with tai chi to create an easy-to-learn program. It is especially useful for people with memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, or similar conditions. It is also designed to prevent these conditions.

Caring for people with memory loss is challenging for carers and family. This mind-body program engages everyone for a quality time together. It will improve most aspects of health including balance, immunity and relaxation, and can be practiced and enjoyed by anyone.  This is a very basic, short and simple form. It is perfect for anyone new to tai chi.

9 NEW MOVEMENTS FOR HEALTH - Intermediate - WEDNESDAY, 12:15 p.m. 

Class content will include a short meditation and will follow with practice, refinement and deepening of the Basic and Advanced postures of the Tai chi For Heath program. This class is designed for the Intermediate student in mind.

Dr. Paul Lam led a team of tai chi and medical specialists to create this program. It is easy, enjoyable and safe for people with arthritis to learn. Medical studies have shown the program to relieve pain for people with arthritis and improve their quality of life, as well as preventing falls for older adults. For this reason, arthritis foundations around the world and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in America are giving it their full support. Please wear comfortable clothing.

Class will include a short meditation and will follow with step by step instruction of the form. This class is perfect for the beginner tai chi student.

Medical studies have shown the program to relieve pain for people with arthritis and improve their quality of life, as well as preventing falls for older adults. Although especially effective for arthritis, it is a great start for beginners to improve health and wellness. The program is proven to be effective to prevent falls. SPIRALING WATER DRAGON FAN FORM - Intermediate - FRIDAY, 11:00 a.m. 

Fan forms are some of the most beautiful forms of Tai Chi. This form will develop graceful movements and fluidity while building chi and strength. Practicing this form will improve posture, enhance balance, flexibility and coordination. We will be using fans made of plastic or bamboo. Instructor's Note: I have found that the plastic fans are easier to open and close than the bamboo fans. Click here for one option. Fans can also be purchased on Amazon.
