Tai Chi Characters

TAI CHI SUN 73 - Advanced - MONDAY, 10:30 a.m. 

Judith Budd- Walsh of Harmonious Movement is teaching the Yang Long Form guided by the teachings of T.T. Liang. She incorporates Qigong taught by her Master teachers, Chung Li, Dr. Nan Lu, C.K. Chu, Dr. Paul Lam, Jim Cummings and Kenneth Cohen, ending the hour-long class with Five Organ Healing and Healing the Five Senses meditations.

Fall 2016 dates: September 12, 19, 26 ● October 3, 17, 24, 31 November 8, 14 ,21, 28 December 5  (make-up class December 12)

TAI CHI YANG 24 - Intermediate - WEDNESDAY, 9:45 a.m.

Certified instructor Rosanne Pawluk has started a Yang style 24 class. This form is a classic for that you would see being practiced in the parks in China.  These gentle flowing movements have proven to increase flexibility, balance and improve joint health. Comfortable clothing and sneakers are all that's needed.

TAI CHI FOR HEALTH (SUN STYLE) - Beginner/Intermediate - WEDNESDAY, 11:00 a.m.

Based on Sun style Tai Chi, this form was designed specifically for people with arthritis but is also good for any beginning tai chi student. This class is for students new to tai chi for arthritis. Some meditation and Qigong may also be explored.

TAI CHI YANG 24 MOVEMENT - Mixed Beginner - THURSDAY, 6:15 p.m.

George Graf continues to teach the classic 24 movement form.  If  you've never done Tai Chi before this is the class for you. Learn the form you see done in parks in China, San Francisco and even New York City's Chinatown. ; Class will include some meditation. New students welcomed.

TAI CHI 28 MOVEMENT - Advanced - THURSDAY, 7:30 p.m.

George Graf is teaching a new form, the competition/combination 42 movements this semester. This form is suitable for the intermediate/advanced student. The form is short and doesn't take a lot of time to do, making it easier to fit into the busy life an average person may have. The benefits of the form are numerous, from skeletal, muscular, circulation, to helping prevent disease.

TAI CHI YANG 24 FORM - Intermediate - FRIDAY, 9:45 a.m.

Continue the journey with Gwen DeVercelly as she leads you in the Yang 24 Form, long practiced in China for health and longevity. This class is for students who have studied Yang 24 for at least one semester.

Fall 2016 dates: September 9, 16, 23, 30 ● October 7, 14, 21, 28 ● November 4, 11 ●  December 9, 16 (make-up class December 23)

New 16 SWORD FORM - Beginner - FRIDAY, 11:00 a.m. 

The 16 Sword Form is based on Yang Style Tai Chi. If you are familiar with the 24 Yang Style Tai Chi, and are interested in adding the sword, this is the form to try. The movements are slow, gentle, and beautiful. For those interested in learning a weapons form for the first time, the 16 Sword form style is a great place to start.
The use of a sword is encouraged but not required to study this form. Swords can be purchased here. Customer service personnel will assist you in choosing the blade length that is most appropriate for your height.

TAI CHI YANG 24 FORM - Beginner - FRIDAY, 11:00 a.m. 

Certified instructor Gwen DeVercelly leads you in the classic Yang 24 Form, widely practiced in the US and China. The gentle flowing movements aim to increase balance, flexibility and relaxation and improve overall mind, body and spirit. Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. No knowledge of Tai Chi is necessary.

*$144 for each 12-class semester. *Makeups are only for classes that might have been cancelled because of instructor illness or weather.
